Chris Johnson (the running back) to hold out?

As a start towards BSP’s march to football season, we are going to discuss NFL football more often.

We don’t call NFL football “pro” football, because college football is also pro football. It’s just not couched as well.

Perhaps coaches, pursuing their master’s degrees should just be given two to three year contracts but given free room and board so they can pursue their lives’ dreams. Eh, maybe not.

Anyway, Chris Johnson, the best running back in the NFL is threatening a holdout. The author, Anthony Stalter states how much he is against rewarding holdouts. In this situation, he notes Johnson is grossly underpaid compared with other running backs, has not shown a predisposition to hold outs and is also in great position to help usher in the Jake Locker era at Titans QB.

We at BSP want everyone to make as much money as humanly possible, with the exception of anti-American dictators like Hugo Chavez. Chris Johnson probably plays the worst position in all of NFL football, running back. Those guys are “old” at 30. Give him the money, and lets see him play right away when they return. That’s common sense.

Oh, the owner of the Titans is Bud Adams? Common sense is wishful thinking for him. By the way, I’m so pleased with this post, I’m going to Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate its greatness. I’ll hoist a frosted malted beverage on your behalf.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
