The Week’s Wrapup

Well, it’s been a week since we’ve posted. What’s happened this past week?

We’ve heard more about Lin than LB James this week. THANK YOU JESUS!

As everyone knows except the dudes/dudettes in the space station, Whitney Houston’s funeral was yesterday. Sad, yet entertaining. Ms. Houston’s former husband, Bobby Brown was ejected from/voluntarily left the proceedings approximately 15 minutes into the event. Ms. Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina was allegedly seen “getting high” after the funeral. Not cool. Not cool at all.

Linsanity continues with the Knicks defeating the Mavericks by seven. Of course, here’s what we get with the NBA and the farce that it’s officiating continues to be: Jason Terry picks up a flagrant foul for bumping the illustrious Mr. Lin. That flagrant foul was an outrage, while Terry has gotten away with much worse. Thanks for the inconsistent officiating, Mr. (and Ms.) Referees. Meanwhile, an ESPN play of words on Lin becomes a massive failure, leaving Disney to repair the damage.

Mike Mayock declares Andrew Luck is not a once in a lifetime QB, while RGIII gets him excited. BSP has seen RGIII play. He’s a combination of system, smarts, extreme athletic talent…and Big 12 trash defenses. Hope the right team picks him so he can get in a decent situation. I have not seen Luck play in person, but the guy looks like he has all the tools. He’s gonna be an awesome NFLer.

Hey, we do gossip and other stuff in this blog. Here in this Bossip column, we see Vanessa Long dropping her divorce complaint against Bishop Eddie Long. I ask the same question: Ladies, would you stay with a man who is accused of sexting a “plethora” of young men?

We preface anything political with non-existent words like “douchetastic”, “suckariffic” and “disrespect”…wait, one of our commenters says “disrespect” is a word. Well, “ain’t” is also a word, but it shouldn’t be. So there. Anyway, I happen to think the Republican primary season is fascinating to watch. It’s like watching players fighting. It should be mandatory viewing for sports fans, regardless of political affiliation, just for the entertainment value alone.

It’s entertainment, people. You actually believe presidents impact your lives? Like some egomaniac, this gigantic douche could have some impact on you?

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
