LA Sports

LA is a dismal sports town. The fans for the most part, are bandwagoners. They pretty much don’t give a crap unless the team is winning.

Here’s some reality for LA:

Staples Center will have a championship round this year.

It’s going to be the Los Angeles KINGS playing in it.

The Lakers and the Clippers are in the dirt. Both down 0-2 going back home to the Staples. In fact, The Lakers and the Clippers have a combined losing post season record at the moment.

My favorite to get off the mat: The Lakers of course. If I had to make a guess, the visiting teams are likely to try for splits. Frankly, I think the Clippers are better than they’ve showed in the first two games down in San Antonio. They’ve been able to hang with the Spurs in the first two games for the first 2 1/2 quarters; then they get mauled. I’m wondering if that’s the Clippers just not able to play down the stretch or are the Spurs just that good?

Meanwhile the Kings continue to roll. They’re going to play for the Stanley Cup.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
