Week One and I’m Done With It

I’m watching Sunday Night Football, but it might not be for long.

Now I’m only a football fan and I’m not pretending to be a genius about the sport. However, I’m listening to horrifically biased Al Michaels and a nonstop suckup to Peyton Manning. Yes, Al Michaels. The guy is a niners fan from way back.

It’s the Steelers second possession and they haven’t even mentioned Todd Haley coming over as offensive coordinator. In fact, they’ve only mentioned Roethlisberger himself twice.

It was tough enough holding down dinner with St. Tony the Good and dirty cheater Rodney Harrison talking about Manning like the guy is a god. It’s like Manning’s SPAMvertising commercials: They run on forever and say nothing worthwhile.

Hey, I can’t stand Denver (the city and the team). I loathe John Elway, Peyton Manning and I despise Al Michaels and the phony crew from NBC. I can only hope Dallas and Denver meet on Sunday night, so the whole crew can [comment deleted] on each other’s faces. Did I really write that? No. But the Broncos and NBC are of such douchery, they get a checkmark for all of our douche categories.

I’m sure there are some Futurama reruns on some channel.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
