Pittsburgh – Tennessee (and MLB Playoffs!)

This Pittsburgh – Tennessee Thursday Night game is very interesting. Pittsburgh has come from behind here in the fourth quarter to take a seven point lead. Tenn has driven down to the Pitt 15 yard line.

On third down, Ike Taylor got called for holding, so its a 1st down for Tenn.

I’ve watched Chris Johnson tonight. He’s bordering on done, in my opinion. He just doesn’t have the burst he used to have. I had mentioned to my son that 2,000 yard backs don’t have long careers. Chris Johnson is used up.

Tenn scores a TD and gets the extra point to tie the game. 4:19 left.

The Tigers are leading the A’s in the 6th inning, 2-0. Verlander’s pitching for the Tigers, and the A’s will need a huge comeback to win this one. Not like it’s impossible though.

The Nationals stay alive, while the Giants came all the way back from down 0-2, winning three in a row on the road to take the series from the Reds. Nationals and Cardinals play a termination game tomorrow.

Steelers line up for a 54-yard FG. It’s short by a yard.
Tenn has the ball at their own 44.

Bottom of 12th, Baltimore and New York tied 1-1.

39 seconds left, 3rd and 5, Tenn at the 50.

James Harrison just got roasted in coverage, and Pitt gives up 25 yards. 2nd and 8, four seconds left. Here comes Bironas. 40 yards. It’s good, Tenn wins. It was a good game.

Baltimore and New York, still tied 1-1 in the top of the 13th. Detroit is now ahead 4-0 and its not looking good for the home team.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
