Kansas City – San Diego

This afternoon, I would have said Jacksonville is the worst team in football. And by the way, Steve Spurrier is completely out of his mind when he says Alabama could beat an NFL team. Actually Steve Spurrier knows what he’s doing; he’s crazy like a fox.

Now I’d have to say, the Chiefs are clearly the worst team in football. It’s 31-13 late in the fourth quarter. I can’t blame their badness completely on their quarterback, Matt Cassel. Can’t pin it entirely on their coaching staff because they aren’t the ones out there dropping passes. Their defense gets stops sometimes, but just as often can’t tackle. Now they were just going to get the ball back with two minutes left, but the punt returner just fumbled the punt. Chargers ball, 2 minutes left, they can down the ball.

The Chiefs look like their veterans can’t play anymore. Matt Cassel had thrown an excellent ball to Bowe in the end zone; he cut the wrong way and missed it. On another, the receiver just short-armed the ball. In my opinion, some of the Chiefs just don’t want to get hurt. That’s not good, and it’s not good for guys like Romeo Crennel. I think that guy would be relieved to get sacked. That’s an all-round awful team.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
