I was on the way home listening to Fox Sports Radio, and their The Lakers homer was saying how Derrick Rose is a really nice kid. He’s a nice kid, but he didn’t want to go to war with him. I get it.
LeBron James is an extremely talented basketball player. He’s also one of the toughest players in the game. Personally I vacillate on LB James. He’s such a great player. You can tell he loves to play the game. It’s fun for him. He’s a great player but you can tell he’s got the douchebag thing going to a degree. Then again, maybe it’s not the douchebag thing going on. Not like Derrick Rose. I can definitely go to war with LB James, even if he wasn’t as good as he is. He’s a warrior (in the basketball sense). He’s gonna play hurt, he’s gonna give full effort and he’s gonna be there for his team.
Derrick Rose isn’t playing with his team in the playoffs. He’s capable of doing so, but doesn’t. Why? He says he’s not confident yet, after having torn his ACL in last season’s playoffs. Apparently, Mr. Rose is playing full speed in scrimmages but he has not yet played. Even though doctors have cleared him to play. Even though 2 months ago, he said he was in the “high 80’s” as far as readiness to play.
Mr. Rose has extreme talent, but I don’t think he’s a huge competitor. I don’t think Rose is a huge team guy. I see guys like Kobe Bryant so pissed he can’t play, he tweets outrageous comments like a fan. Hell, he is a fan. Kobe is saying stuff bandwagoner The Lakers fan is saying:
What I would say if I was there right now? “Pau get ur ass on the block and don’t move till u get it”
It kills real competitors not to play. Derrick Rose is enjoying his season off. He’s getting paid millions to essentially relax. I suspect he’ll come to training camp in perfect shape. But he’s lost a lot of cred already. Bulls fans are destroying him on the Internet. NFLers are coming back from similar injuries even more quickly. Don’t know why he’s doing this but I just hope he’s getting some bad advice somewhere.
And I hope its from someone he can fire. You only get so many chances in a career.
