Celtics – Knicks

Watched the Celtics and Knicks tonight. The Celtics led 48-42 at the half, but the Knicks charged out of the gate in the third to handle Boston relatively easily, 87-71. They lead 2-0 in the series. Unless Boston can get it going at home in their first game at Boston since the Marathon attacks, it’s going to be a short series.

My friends, the Knicks are not a great offensive club. They have Carmelo and they have J.R. Smith to fill it up. The Knicks, however, can get stops. They can get stops whenever they want. They forced the Celtics into bad shots, and when Boston got good looks, they missed them. Boston had a good run in the second quarter, but that was about it for the game. They shot 19 percent in the second half.

The Knicks actually did a good job in dumping Mike D’Antoni and retaining Mike Woodson. He’s helped make them into a complete team. This is the best Knicks team in a long time.

And no matter what, the Celtics are getting lit up on sports talk radio in Boston. That’s just how Boston rolls.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
