Basketball, Reality TV and Stuff

There’s so much stuff going on it isn’t even funny:

1) Miami now leads Indiana 3 games to 2 in the Eastern Conference finals. No surprise there, except if it wasn’t for WWE-like referee-ing, the series would already be over. I had to laugh because Miami got a taste of its own medicine. In addition, the sports media, especially ESPN’s basketball talking heads, the Mike and Mike show go down on the Heat like there’s no tomorrow.

2) The NFL, in its continuing effort to kill off other sports, announced its moving its draft to May. That should help the NBA and NHL playoffs ratings, right?

3) I’m watching so much trash and reality television it isn’t even funny. Deadliest Catch’s season is over when it felt like it had just begun:

And Josh Anderson is leaving the Northwestern to captain his own boat. By the way, they just happened to announce at the very end Josh got his master’s license in 2010. Josh would have to go anyway, because Edgar is a capable captain himself.

4) Meanwhile, there’s plenty of stuff on the edge of the absurd:

Steve Nash is refusing to pay his ex-wife additional child support. Turns out Nash believes he paid his ex, Alejandra Amarilla, enough money in the divorce settlement. But there’s more to the story. BSP posted a couple of years ago the alleged father of Nash’s ex-wife’s child was Leandro Barbosa. The real dad may be Jason Richardson, another of Nash’s former teammates. Indeed, the Suns shipped out Richardson shortly after the birth of the child. I’m not sure how that’s going to work out for Alejandra, but I’d be damn pissed if I’m paying support for a child of a near-equally rich NBA player.

The Big Tim Duncan was allegedly concerned enough about his wife cheating on him, that he hired a private investigator to follow her around. Mrs Big Tim Duncan evidently moved out of the house, but took Duncan by surprise with her filing for divorce.

In one of the biggest non-surprises to BSP, Dwayne Wade says he was probably a terrible husband but claims to be a great dad. Evidently, his ex-wife agrees on at least one of those statements:

Wade ran off with basketball ho Gabrielle Union and gaining full custody of his children, sending his ex into what appears to be a non-ending depression This was accented with Twitter attacks by Ms Union. By the way, wasn’t Ms. Union Jason Kidd’s ex?Sounds like Ms. Union is a basketball ho but not a very good one.

Anyway, BSP says Wade is a dirty basketball player as well. We said that a long time ago on this very blog, before the rest of the world began to awaken from the ESPN blowing of Wade. We saw an article on CBSSports saying how Wade is truly the bad guy, with several non-basketball dirty plays attributed to him. Finally. Wade’s a bad dude. A bad dude is someone who you can’t turn your back on for a second or he’s set one of your cars on fire and takes 10 minutes to pull a fire extinguisher out of his trunk. Of course, ESPN is standing by to get an exclusive on how Wade has helped you.

In comparison, LeBron James is a Boy Scout.

The NBA is too weak to actually discipline Wade.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
