Double Homer-vision

Last night, I watched the Cowboys play the Raiders on NFL Network, until the New England – Philadelphia game ended. The broadcast was by the Raiders TV crew. At that point, the Dallas – Oakland game was blacked out and I was forced to watch Cowboys Homervision.

“We have a reversal”

Oakland’s crew made note of the fact the Cowboys, and specifically Tony Romo, haven’t experienced a whole lot of success in the playoffs of late.  Which is, indeed the truth. The Raiders have won more postseason games since 2001 than the Cowboys…and the Raiders haven’t made the playoffs for 10 straight seasons.

Cowboys homervision believes every bad call for the Cowboys does not actually happen. Meanwhile, every bad call against Dallas results in “Jason Garrett is upset and rightly so”. What a bunch of homeristic douchebags.

Have to say its kind of frightening. Dallas looks a lot better than they have in years past. They have talent; its just their team is kind of soft and lacks depth.

Oakland can’t possibly be as bad as they have been made out to be. Basically, the national media makes it appear as if they’ll be the worst team ever. They will not assume that role; the Raiders won’t win a lot of games but they won’t be horrible. Probably.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
