Did you see Rex Ryan losing it on the media last night? Too funny:
Two bottom lines and a question:
1) Stupid move by having Mark Sanchez out there with backups and camp fodder in the fourth quarter
2) Rex Ryan is out of there at the end of the season and this is one more nail.
My question is, why do we give a damn about the Jets? They SUCK OUT LOUD! The Jets are not interesting, good or entertaining. They get too much press because they are close to Bristol (home of ESPN), and Mike Greenberg of “Mike and Mike” douchery is a Jets fan. That’s it. The Jets suck and we’re overexposed to them. The New York sports media was harsh with Ryan, mostly because he knew he had made a mistake, gotten his presumed starter injured, but they had to bring up something where we already knew the answer.
That said, Rex Ryan is a quality defensive coach, but I wonder how much he really cares about his offense. I actually think they could have won more if they had brought in a veteran game manager style QB at the beginning of the Ryan tenure, but they went all-in on Mark Sanchez. There’s nothing Sanchez did to be the 4th overall pick in the draft. I couldn’t understand it. The guy started eight games in college. Plus he’s mentally fragile. Competition didn’t bring out the best in him.
Now, Ryan has Geno Smith, who struggled with his starters last night. That guy is going to make the Jets look like complete fools. To be honest, I think their owner is meddling. Like Sanchez, he thinks Smith is a new toy. Once Smith starts to take beat downs and throw bad picks, the owner and the media will turn on him too.
