Terrell Owens Speaks

Unfortunately, I’m listening to the Jay Mohr show, and he has Terrell Owens as his guest. Mohr asked Owens why he hasn’t gotten another shot in the league, and Owens is saying he is viewed as a “bad teammate”, a “cancer”.  Owens says he’s never laid hands on someone, done drugs, and other bad off-the-field stuff. He says he wasn’t a bad teammate. He believes the comments about McNabb and Jeff Garcia was a two-way street.

Owens neglects some important items, but the biggest thing is “can’t play anymore.” Owens might be in great shape for a 40+ year old, but he’s just not that great. Owens always had questionable hands, but a guy who isn’t that fast anymore can’t have questionable hands. If you can’t play anymore, you don’t get a job in the NFL. Period.

Meanwhile, Owens just dumps on Donavan McNabb’s Super Bowl performance. Funny, Mohr who is awful, just said something about Owens being a Hall-of-Famer. Sure, when people talking about all-time greats being a champion, Owens just popped-up in that Super Bowl. The Eagles went through the playoffs without him. Now Owens just dumped on Jason Garrett and Jason Whitten. Are you kidding me?

Memo to TO. Please retire. You can have a press conference where you talk about those other players who were so bad.

By the way, Jay Glazer announced Josh Freeman has just been released by the Buccaneers. Next post in 15 minutes.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
