Jameis Winston leads Florida State

We hardly ever discussed ACC football on this blog.

That’s about to change.

We thought Clemson was the class of the ACC, and headed towards a national title opportunity. Florida State on the other hand was the team that always fell short somehow. Clemson, frankly was expected to at least compete in this game.

Florida State trounced Clemson, 51-14 to  vault to the head of the ACC and jump up into membership of legitimate national title contenders. Winston was amazing, throwing for 444 yards and 3 touchdowns in the rout. It’s an impressive road win for Florida State, considering the Tigers were ranked third in the nation coming into the game. Meanwhile, Winston increased his chances of getting strong Heisman consideration.

A lot of people suggest Ohio State could jump up into the national championship conversation by going undefeated. I suspect Ohio State is behind the undefeated teams and some one-loss squads in actual chances of going to the national championship game. They are going to need some help, which based on previous performance, most of college football fans don’t want them to get.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.

Hopefully, this win will vault FSU over Ohio State in the rankings.
