Chicago – Philadelphia

Oh, Dallas, you’re going to have your hands full. Philadelphia, with nothing to play for tonight, against Chicago, with a division title in their sights.

Right now, at the end of the third, it’s 33-11, Philadelphia. The Bears are only now making it somewhat competitive.

I have to wonder about this. Chicago’s offense clicks to some degree, even with Jay Cutler in the game. But their defense is terrible, especially against the run. If the Bears can fire Lovie Smith with a 10-6 record, what are they going to do with Marc Trestman, who is showing no signs of having a passable defense? Through all the years they’ve existed, the Bears have always had some type of defense. This year, they are awful. As LeShan McCoy just shreds them yet again (18 rushes, 118 yards). The Bears have allowed 10 100-yard rushers, most in their history. And the Bears have a long history.

Another 15-20 yard run for McCoy. The Eagles have 226 rushing yards tonight after a TD run by their third RB. This is embarrassing. Give Chip Kelly credit. He can coach ’em up; unlike the Genius coaches, he works with the players he’s got and builds an offense around them.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
