Did you see New England today?

Did you see the Patriots destroy the Ravens 41-7 and hurt their playoff chances badly, tonight? The Patriots jumped out to a 17-0 lead, then when the Ravens closed to 20-7, the Patriots scored the final 21 points of the game.

Do you remember the Terrell Suggs comments after the Ravens beat the Patriots in the AFC Championship game last season? Something like “Tell them to have fun at the Pro Bowl“? I suspect Suggs didn’t put too much thought into those comments today, but I bet New England and Tom Brady sure did. No Spygate, no tuck rule, just a good old fashioned butt whuppin. Personally, I think the Patriots were looking past the Dolphins. Also, they know they can beat the Dolphins in a game at New England.

Suggs got his Super Bowl last year. This season, the Ravens are going to have to get help to just make the playoffs. Not to mention if they do make it, they’ll have to win road playoff games yet again. Not like they haven’t done that before, but maybe its better to be humble than to express your dislike of a team you just beat, even if it’s not that season it comes back on you.

Wow, the Eagles just scored again, its 53-11 with 6:14 left. Oh well. Looks like the Bears are going to have to regroup after absorbing this one. And the Eagles have to realize this is not going to happen next week.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
