Did you see the Chiefs come from 28 points ahead to fall to Indianapolis, 45-44 on a 64-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Luck to T.Y. Hilton with 4:22 left? A miraculous comeback, with the Colts trailing as much as 38-10 in the second half.
Alex Smith was 30 of 46 for 378 yards with 4 TDs and 0 interceptions. Can’t say anything bad about that. Losing his top two running backs hurt. Also, the inability to get a stop in the second half hurt.
Once again, BSP’s commentary will be echoed in the losing team’s locker room. The emphasis and rule changing in favor of offense (due to video game fans demanding the real sport resemble Madden) bites a team in the azz. It’s good to be able to get a stop, isn’t it ChiefsFan? It’s good to be able to hit a guy without flags flying all over the place. It’s good to be able to play football without having the deck thoroughly stacked against you. Perhaps playing pass defense without having a million picks run against you would help. Of course, St. Peyton benefits from those so that won’t happen.
If there was ever a team in the AFC West I wanted to do anything in the playoffs, it was the Chiefs. A much classier act than the dirty Broncos and the shouldn’t be anywhere near the playoffs Chargers.
