Florida State wins the 2013 National Title, with a 34-31 come-from-behind victory over the gallant Auburn Tigers. Offensive genius Gus Malzahn had the Tigers rolling in the first half. They struck out to an 18-point lead, then Florida State started their comeback. The final quarter resulted in 21 FSU points, including the game winning touchdown. Jameis Winston was knocked around in the first half but righted the ship enough to toss two TD passes in the 4th quarter. Auburn scored on a 37-yard run by Tre Mason with 1:19 left, but they left too much time left on the clock.
So Florida State is the National Champion, the last of the BCS era. Give credit where credit is due, they could have packed it in during the 2nd quarter. A lot of teams would have.
I bet Brent Musberger wept afterwards, he was pulling for Auburn so hard. So were those terrible officials. That horse collar those officials missed was amazingly bad. Strangely enough, AuburnFan was blaming that non-call for allowing too much time to run off the clock.
Excuse me, I have to get ready for Haves and Have Nots. Veronica’s having her meltdown now…
