The best thing about this blog is, I don’t discuss politics unless absolutely necessary. You know, the bitter sports subject matter is sports, hot women, money, things that men like, firearms, fighting and bag-ery.

In my opinion, politics is ass; a sport for the mentally helpless. Why? Because it’s incredibly stupid. What makes politics stupid is the lemming-like approach to policy. You know, how a party has its “platform”, and the platform is the party dogma.

I recently saw a Word Press article on abortion. I’m not going to say how I feel about that other than I think the dogma; that you must believe this because you support political party X, makes no sense. What are you, a robot? Didn’t (your deity) give you a brain to think with? Holy smokes, it’s so stupid! Someone tells me what to think so I’m going to follow them right off the cliff.

I listen to Mike Taylor talk about the Cowboys and it made me laugh. Mostly because he just sits there and talks. There’s no real analysis, it’s just what he thinks. The show is practically devoid of guests. It’s worse than Limbaugh; at least Rush has guests. But it’s the same format. And people love it! People love Taylor, because as Limbaugh does, the listeners can just give up on thinking. It hardly makes sense but the main requirements for sports radio talk show hosts must be:

Be long-winded
Don’t allow the audience to think
Only listen to yourself

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
