Did you hear Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s interview today? The guy is the Alpha Dog with a touch of bipolar mixed in. He ran some smack; some of it true, most of it a creation in his own mind. Vladimir Putin would be a great sports talk radio personality. Because they create an alternate reality too.
I was listening to one of our sports talk radio shows tonight, the one with Dat Nguyen and Jason Minnix. They were talking about how the Cowboys have solved their cap problems by restructuring Tony Romo’s contract, and potentially cutting DeMarcus Ware. Right now, they are within $1M of the cap, and they’re celebrating.
Unfortunately, they don’t listen to this blog. You know, we did a post on the Cowboys cap reality and it isn’t pretty … long term. Basically, they kicked the football down the road. They can’t sign big time free agents; they’ll barely be able to get their picks. Furthermore, in the long term, this is going to be disasterous. They aren’t going to really improve the team through anything other than their players miraculously getting better.
Here at BSP, we are pleased with this approach. Consistent mediocrity. That’s all we want from Dallas.
