During BSP’s article on curmudgeon Donald Sterling getting booted as owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, we cited Magic Johnson as a major instigator of the departure. BSP noted Sterling had a long history as a racist prior to the comments to his pseudo-girlfriend. Magic called for Sterling’s removal as owner, saying he had no place in the game.
Later, Johnson celebrated the resignation of The Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni with this comment:
Charles Barkley was the only one brave enough to take on Magic and his less than classy comments:
“Magic Johnson’s bigger than that,” Barkley said. “Magic Johnson’s bigger than that. Listen, Mike D’Antoni is a good coach. They didn’t give him a lot to work with. But Magic Johnson, he’s bigger than that.”
And by the way, since when did Magic Johnson become the arbiter of all that’s right with everything? If I recall correctly, he retired from the NBA when he was told he had HIV. This after having sexual relations, by his own admission, with 300 to 500 people per year before the diagnosis.I’m sure it was the very last one that got him, and he never infected anyone else. And obviously, the women forced him to do it. He undoubtedly is a hero to women. Oh yeah, Magic is also an owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, a team that brought on some heavy contracts and has yet to win a World Series:

Magic is wealthy beyond his own dreams … but then again, so is Donald Sterling and you see what that got him. Why not worry about your own team, Magic?
I don’t see Michael Jordan dumping all over the Bulls for them not beating the Wizards, do you?
BSP isn’t even taking Magic to task for his mangled syntax. We’re bigger than that.
