I wrote about the overthecap.com piece on NFL 7th rounders experiencing a 25% cut rate. A friend of mine suggested a book called “Slow Getting Up.” It’s a book by Nate Jackson, former Denver Broncos receiver. I’ve only read excerpts from the book, but I’m going to get it for my Kindle (if I can find it).
It gives me much respect for NFL players and what they go through to play that game we love. We said in the previous post that most players don’t have guaranteed contracts. I even have some new respect for the Broncos, since coach Shanahan gave Jackson multiple chances, even when he was injured.
