A comment on the picked-up flag

You know I’m going to roast the officials and blame some oddball conspiracy theory on why the Cowboys won that game.
No way. Dallas was the better team; once you see that game, you can tell Dallas was better than Detroit.
The problem is, how Dallas won. It was through sheer incompetence. That non-PI call is the kind of call that tells a team “you aren’t going to win no matter what.” A lot of people like to say “you have to play through bad calls, “like Cowboys idiot coach Jason Garrett. But those kind of calls … The kind Garrett’s team never gets against them … Are simply back breakers. Look at some of the worst calls in history. Bert Emmanuel’s catch overturned by a replay official, the Bucs never came back. The Raiders never got the ball back after the infamous Tuck Rule call.

And now this.

I love football. But I don’t love these kinds of calls. As for Blandino, you know I addressed that little situation way before it got popular. The guy probably wanted to go see hot chicks and that’s that. But it looks improper. And now it looks like favoritism.

If Dallas gets another call like this, and they will, the only people watching the next game after that will be Cowboys fans. And the other 31 owners are going to be hot.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
