Ohio State – Oregon

I didn’t think Oregon was that good and Florida State was that bad. Most fans, and certainly broadcasters don’t understand the snowball effect. Momentum is such a huge part of the college game.

Don’t care about Oregon right now. Give huge credit where credit is due: Ohio State came though in this game big time. With a national title on the line, Cardale Jones wins in big time fashion. Ohio State almost didn’t make this game, but the committee set it up perfectly.

No one can ever take this one away from Ohio State. A genuine playoff, a genuine plow through the best teams in college football, and a genuine team effort. Their defense came through for them tonight, after the first quarter, Ohio State kicked the Ducks in the ass. The tempo thing wasn’t a big deal for the Buckeyes, and unlike many other teams, they weren’t whipped by the numbers the Ducks put up against other teams.

What about Oregon and Marcus Mariota? People, like ESPN and BSP were practically giving them the title. Except Ohio State didn’t believe the hype.

Ohio State is the highly, highly deserving national champion. Like the shirt says, undisputed. Give Urban Meyer credit, he truly had his guys ready to play.

By the way, one of my coworkers went to this game because he’s from Oregon. He just saw his home state’s team get blitzed. He’s a bit of a bag anyway. Ha, ha! It’s going to be a long trip home from Dallas.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
