Josh Gordon’s Side of the Story

By now, some of you have seen Josh Gordon’s comments where he defends himself against multiple accusers and others in regards to his drug/alcohol use. Gordon does apologize to those whom he believes he has let down … teammates, Browns ownership, BrownsFan and most of all, family members. Gordon does take to task those who have commented on his behavior. Stephen A. Smith, Charles Barkley and Cris Carter were called out. Gordon states other than very casual contact, they haven’t met him.
BSP in our post “Somebody Help Josh Gordon” had hard words for two groups: those waiting to stone him, and those willing to let his transgressions slip.
Josh Gordon takes off on Charles Barkley because Chuck is afraid Gordon is going to die:

“This is very personal to me,” Barkley said. “I have a brother who’s dead … Josh Gordon is going to die if he keeps going on this road he’s going.”

We like Charles Barkley. He’s honest. He said this to CNN host Wold Blitzer:

And I think these Christians, first of all, they’re not supposed to judge other people. But they’re the most hypocritical judge of people we have in the country. And it bugs the hell out of me. They act like they’re Christians. They’re not forgiving at all.

Gordon says Barkley’s never talked to him. I really wouldn’t have gone in that direction if I were him. At least Barkley gave a damn. There’s always the holier-than-thou sports media:

Gordon says he doesn’t know how they get away with it. Easy. They get away with it because sports media isn’t real journalism. They get away with it because no one with a brain expects sports media to be honest. My opinion, but so is sports media guy’s blather. It is all, and only about ratings and how many advertising dollars you pull in.

Then there’s Cleveland Browns fan. They’re going to back Gordon as long as he can play.

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
