Events in San Antonio I Want to See

In case you haven’t noticed, San Antonio is well off the beaten path. In fact, even here in Texas, we are not among the crossroads of the state. Houston and Dallas have intercontinental airfields, our airport sucks big time. There are three airports with flights to Europe from Texas: Dallas (DFW), Houston (IAH) and Austin. That’s right, British Airways flies to Austin, but not San Antonio, the seventh largest city in the United States.

There are some interesting events here to pass the time, so I’m going to post a few here. I’m doing so because I don’t want to forget them, and miss out on getting tickets:

October 9-10, HCCO Hill Country State Championships (BBQ Cook Off), Lockhart TX. May be an overnight camping opportunity.

November 19-22, 2015: San Antonio International Auto and Truck Show, at the Gonzalez Convention Center

January 1-3, 2016: South Texas RV Supersale, Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum

January 2, 2016: Alamo Bowl, Alamodome

January 28-31, 2016: San Antonio Boat and Travel Trailer Show, Alamodome

About bittersportspills

I love sports. I don't love the hype, homerism, ratings talk, self-important egomaniacs, bias or any of the other nonsense you get with the national media. Nor will you get the two clowns on sports talk radio who stage phony arguments. It doesn't make it entertaining. It makes it time to turn on your iPod and jam instead of listening to white noise generators. This is the sports blog for you, the ones who don't like everything Los Angeles or New York. Just because the sporting media is based there doesn't mean we have to like their teams. We do treat them fairly, though. That means if one of those cities has an average QB who plays particularly well...we'll note it. If they're garbage, we'll say so. Instead of crying "why, why, why" like a certain sports media homer did in his radio broadcast. This isn't my job...I have a real one. Nevertheless, I'll post here when I make an observation. Common sense in sports is nearly dead. Now we're attempting to bring it back.
