Did you read Awful Announcing’s post discussing Stephen A. Smith’s threat against NBA All-Star Kevin Durant?
Seems that Smith said Durant would make the Los Angeles Lakers a strong contender for his services if the superstar chose to leave Oklahoma City, a comment Durant denied forcefully. Durant claimed Smith had talked to no one in his inner circle.
Smith had a few forceful comments of his own:
But I will say this lastly. You don’t want to make an enemy out of me. And I’m looking right at the camera and I’m going to say it again. You do not want to make an enemy out of me. I’m not having it. I’ve done nothing wrong. And I’m not going to tolerate it.
Are you kidding me? Screaming A., you are a broadcaster. You are a nobody with a microphone! We at BSP admit Smith was well in advance of national media on LB James going to Miami, but this is an unhinged statement. Who cares what you’re going to tolerate? These are grown men … grown men whom you are relying upon to make a living. It’s not like you have an unreplaceable talent.
